Prom

Minnetonka High School Prom traditionally takes place the third Saturday of May each year. Some years Prom is hosted on the MHS campus and other years it is held at an off-site venue.

The MHS Prom is an event exclusively for current junior and senior students. No underclassmen are allowed to attend, even if accompanied by a current junior or senior, due to safety and security purposes. MHS alumni of the previous year’s graduating class may attend as a guest of a current MHS Junior or Senior.

If an MHS student is bringing a junior or senior guest from another school, they must submit both guest forms below; one to be completed by the MHS student and one by the visiting student’s administration. Both forms must be completed and returned by the Thursday prior to Prom, end of day. If an MHS student is bringing an MHS graduate guest, they must complete and return the MHS Graduate Guest Form by the Friday prior to the week of Prom (two Fridays before), as well as set up an appointment for the graduate to meet with Mr. Erickson, prior to the day of Prom.

MHS juniors and seniors may purchase tickets online through Vanco, starting May 1st. The cost per person ($20-$50 depending on the venue) will increase on Friday morning, to encourage students to buy tickets early, allowing for administration to properly plan for a safe and secure event. Students must present their Vanco ticket and a valid high school student ID to enter the dance. (MHS Juniors and Seniors in need of financial assistance, please connect with their counselor.)

No food, drink, or bags larger than a small purse will be allowed into the event. There will be a coat check available, as well as parking for automobiles. There will be no exit and re-entry allowed. All rules and expectations laid out in the MHS student handbook apply throughout the duration of the event.

Please note that both the Friday prior to Prom and the Monday following are regular school days and all students are expected to be in attendance, as regular instruction and events will take place.
