Welcome to Minnetonka High School!

We are a high-performing, suburban high school serving more than 3,100 students from ten communities. We also welcome open enrollment and Tonka Online students.

At Minnetonka High School, our goal is to engage all students in deep, meaningful learning, so they can achieve their highest aspirations. We achieve this by building strong relationships with students and families. We are proud of our fine academic, fine arts and co-curricular programs, including a large selection of Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate classes. Minnetonka is also the state's leader in Language Immersion for both Spanish and Chinese programs.

Recognized by Newsweek Magazine as one the Best High Schools in America, our student test scores are consistently among the best in the state of Minnesota. We've also been recognized by the Washington Post as one of the Most Challenging High Schools in America. On an international assessment of 15-year-olds from more than 70 economies worldwide, Minnetonka students outperformed Shanghai, Finland and other international leaders in reading and science, and MHS scored second--only to Shanghai--in math.

When you enter our school you will be surprised to learn it was built in 1952. Extensive updates and renovations over the last decade make MHS a leading edge learning environment. We understand that physical surroundings impact how our students and staff approach their work. State-of-the-art science and engineering labs, media center, collaboration spaces, technology, high speed wifi and lots of natural light support the important work going on daily in our school. Our physical plant also includes three artificial turf athletic fields and the Tonka Dome (inflated over the football field six months of the year). We also have an indoor hockey arena on campus in the Pagel Center, which also includes an indoor running track and strength training facility.

We enjoy great community support, including a parent volunteer organization that serves our students on a daily basis. Please call us for more information on our programs, 952-401-5700.
