The College Board has named Minnetonka High School to the 7th Annual AP Honor Roll for increasing access to a broader numbers of students for Advanced Placement courses, while maintaining an exceptionally high success rate on AP Exams. In 2016, 1,315 MHS students took 2,376 AP exams. The percent of total AP students with scores of 3 or higher was 86.2%. This compares to state (66%) and global (60%) averages.

The Washington Post ranks Minnetonka High School #214 nationally and #4 in Minnesota based on participation and achievement with Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and ACT scores--all college readiness indicators.
