Andy Coutts

Andy Coutts serves as a Program Manager with Minnetonka Community Education. Andy oversees the development and implementation of recreational programming for youth of all ages including High School Ski & Snowboard Club, Mountain Bike Racing Team, K-8 Basketball, and soccer and tennis programs. Although Andy has years of coaching experience at a high level, he feels he’s doing his most important work now, helping young people to have a rich and positive experience in community-based sport and physical activity.

Andy has a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland, where he was also a Teaching Assistant in the Sport Studies department. He earned his undergraduate degree in History from St. Lawrence University (N.Y.) where he played intercollegiate soccer. Andy also recently became a Certified Program Planner through the LERN organization.

Prior to his time in Minnetonka Community Ed, Andy has spent his career as a coach and educator in many different contexts. He was the Men’s Soccer Coach and Assistant Tennis Coach at Hamline University, earning MIAC Coach of the Year honors in 2005. As the Director of Education for Minnesota Youth Soccer Association he led coaching education and player development programs across the state, and also served as a National Coach Educator for the United States Soccer Federation. He holds U.S. Soccer Federation National “A” and “Youth” Licenses and helped to develop two new licensure courses for the federation. He still gets his coaching fix by assisting the Girls’ Varsity high school soccer team in Eden Prairie, where he lives with his wife and two daughters.
