Social Studies

Our social studies program offers you an opportunity to learn about society, the world and our country - our past, our present and our future. You will gain a strong understanding about the impact of behavior - whether it's the actions and decisions of an individual, a group of people or a government.

  • Current Issues: examining and analyzing today's global issues, understanding foreign policy implications, understanding the criminal justice system
  • Economics: understanding of economic principles on a micro and a macro level, understanding of the relationships of world economies
  • Geography: understanding of world themes from the birth of civilization to the modern world, understanding of human impact on the Earth
  • Government and Politics: understanding of political ideologies and parties; the election process; U.S judicial legislative and executive processes; and public policy
  • History: reading, writing and analysis of US, European and world history
  • Psychology: analyzing human behavior and understanding the mental process
  • Sociology: understanding culture, change, relationships, socialization and social organization
