Volunteer

Have you ever seen a family member or friend struggle with substance use? Did you want to help them but didn’t know how to? Or are you interested in substance use prevention and mental health?

Tonka CARES is a group of passionate youth and adults that care about substance use prevention and the overall wellness of our Minnetonka school community. Our primary goal is to promote social, emotional, and psychological well-being in our youth through substance use prevention and mental health resources.

We have a wide range of individuals, and we value everyone’s ideas and viewpoints equally. Our group includes students, counselors, parents, public health workers, physicians, organizations, and more. Everyone’s voice matters!

We work with efficient strategies like developing policies and programs, collaborating with organizations, presenting topic-specific education, and more.

We provide flexible meeting times for student groups, which meet about once every two weeks. Throughout the year, there are five full group meetings.

If you want to make a positive difference in our community, please join us by contacting Christine Arulanantham, TonkaCARES Coordinator, via email at christine.arulanantham@minnetonkaschools.org or call 952-401-5056.
