Launching The Hub to Promote Maker-Based Learning
"
I like to mess around with wiring and technology. It was really cool to tap a carrot and have it play a piano. I have a room in my house I call my lab. When someone gives me a device, I try to fix it and make it work. The Hub tools are another way to tinker and work in the same way

Future workplaces will require people who can problem-solve, adapt and communicate in environments that are increasingly complex.
With $200,000 from our Endowment Fund, the Foundation launched The Hub last year. We provided plugged and unplugged materials to enhance the tonka curricular program and support maker-based learning in all PreK-8 Minnetonka schools.
The Hub materials provided by the Foundation encourage open-ended student-driven learning experiences that encourage creativity, collaboration and teamwork to achieve a goal.

I often post photos on precious status
about what we are doing with The Hub and have heard from many parents that their students love using The Hub.

I liked how it was so creative and very realistic. I love to have the freedom to create whatever I want."
