Momentum Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Momentum Memorial Fund was established in honor of James ‘Jamie’ Olinger to support Minnetonka High School students in the Momentum program who will be pursuing a career in trades or a technical field.  A scholarship will be awarded each spring to a Minnetonka High School senior who plans to pursue a postsecondary school or four-year college program; and/or funds will be granted to students who needs assistance with course fees for materials.  Applications can be submitted through the MHS Career and Counseling Center.

Background
Jamie Olinger worked as a skilled builder for 37 years.  Building was his passion and he enjoyed working with students, teaching and mentoring them.  He often spoke at vocational schools and high schools encouraging them to offer courses like Momentum.  He would be excited to see that Minnetonka High School is creating avenues and opportunities for students to seek careers in trade or technical fields and would have loved to support this program.
