Award Honorees

Lizzy Adams '15

The Young Alumni Achievement Award winner, Lizzy Adams, graduated from Minnetonka in 2015. Her favorite memories revolve around being a Minnetonka Performance Dance Team Captain during her junior and senior year. She loved to help choreograph dances and spend Friday nights on the football field sideline with friends.

If you were to ask her high school teachers, they would tell you Lizzy has always been a talker and connector. During High School at Minnetonka she was encouraged to build upon her natural talents, make connections and serve as an active member of her community. Adams says these are the qualities that have helped her get to where she is today.

Adams earned her bachelor’s degree in Spanish Studies from the University of Minnesota and went to work at one of the top marketing agencies in Washington, D.C., as a Lead Writer and Public Relations Specialist for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

She proudly used her voice to amplify important stories about our Nation’s Veterans. Her advocacy contributed to national awareness campaigns, sustainability initiatives, and a Senate hearing focused on improving military housing. In addition, Adams has used her writing skills to promote the mission of RAINN, the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence nonprofit organization.

Today, Adams serves as a Recruitment Marketing Specialist with Delta Air Lines’ Talent Acquisition team where she continues her commitment to Veterans through Delta initiatives. Recently, she served as a communications delegate for the airlines “Return to Normandy” program, where she helped share the stories of more than 40 World War II Veterans during the 79th anniversary of D-Day.

In the future, she plans to continue making an impact at Delta Air Lines by connecting servant leaders with lifelong careers full of growth and adventure.

Adams is grateful for the Alumni Association and their commitment to keeping us all connected by our common bond; once a Skipper, always a Skipper. The Minnetonka community is proud of Lizzy Adams and her many accomplishments. As this year’s recipient of the Young Alumni Achievement Award, we honor the meaningful work she is doing and admire her ability to make positive change.
