Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to run the whole course?
No. The course consists of 2 laps and you can choose to stop after 1 lap and still receive a finisher ribbon (but not qualify for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finishing medals).

Do I need to do every obstacle?
No. Just do the ones you feel safe doing and that are fun for you. We actually prefer you skip an obstacle if you feel you do not have the capability to complete it safely.

How long is the course?
The full course consists of 2 laps that are each 1.7 miles (2.7km), making the full course 3.4 miles (5.4km). The Mini Mud Run is about 1/4 mile.

Can I register as a family?
Yes. All family members (or family with friends) with groups of four or more participating in the Minnewashta Mud Run may register as a group and receive a 5% discount prior to late registration. For families or groups smaller than four, you may still register with a team name, but there will be no discount.

When does registration close?
Regular registration closes on June 30th. You may do a late registration online through July 8th, at Minnetonka Community Education Center on July 8th from 5:30- 7:00 pm, or the day of the race. Please note, t-shirts and race bags are given on a first come, first serve basis for late registrations.

What does my registration include?
Entry fee to the Minnewashta Regional Park, T-shirt, finisher ribbon and race bag (guaranteed to all preregistered runners; then available first come, first serve during late registration). Post race refreshments available first come, first serve.

Can I cancel my registration?
No refunds or transfers are allowed for any reason at any time including event cancellation.

Can I register the day of the run?
Yes, you can register the day of the race. We do encourage registering prior to race day to avoid long lines on race day. Late registrants receive a race bag and T-shirt on a first come, first serve basis as we will have a limited supply the day of the event.

Do I need to register my child for the Mini Mudder?
Yes. Every participant needs to pay the registration fee and sign a waiver before being allowed to participate.

Can I wear a costume?
Yes! We encourage it. Let your imagination run wild. We will have prizes for best costumes, including individual and team/family categories. Costumes will be judged during the closing ceremony.

What if there is inclement weather?
Minnewashta Mud Run reserves the right to delay the start of the event or to cancel the event. The safety of all participants is our primary concern. While we recognize the aspirations and commitment of those that have prepared for the event, we will make decisions about the event based on the participation population as a whole. Conversations that could lead to the cancellation of the event will be made in cooperation with local law enforcement. In the event of a forced cancellation of Minnewashta Mud Run, the financial impact on the event would be the same as if it were held. Refunds or future credits will not be given if the event is cancelled.

Is the entire course mud?
The mud is spread throughout the course in the form of pits that racers can choose to splash in or skip if they wish. Since our run is family friendly, our challenges score higher on the fun factor and lower on the risk factor.
