Minnetonka Theatre Earns Top Honors for The Scarlet Pimpernel

The Hennepin Theatre Trust has honored Minnetonka Theatre's 2019 spring musical The Scarlet Pimpernel with 16 awards, including the coveted Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical. The Spotlight Musical Theatre Program is the Trust's premier education initiative honoring Minnesota high school theatre programs.

Director Trent Boyum said, "I am thrilled for our MHS "Pimpernel" cast, crew, orchestra and staff. Their dedication to our program is inspiring and they deserve every accolade."

The judges' comments included:

  • "I have seen professional theater in the Twin Cities and your program is hitting that level!"
  • "Fantastic work by the ensemble all around! It is difficult to pick out highlights because it all was so beautiful! Here are just a couple examples: The intensity and fullness of "Madame Guillotine," The clean beauty of the opening number "Storybook," and of course the fabulous sword fighting. It was all just terrific!"
  • "Your student orchestra was an incredible group of musicians playing beyond what most high schools achieve. Congratulations on your beautiful work!"
  • "The show... brought genuine tears to my eyes. When a performer moves me to tears, they are GOOD. It
    was wonderful"

3rd Annual "We Are One" Football Camp

The third annual "We Are One" football camp welcomed more than 50 students with special needs from grades 3-12 to the high school football field for an evening of fun and connection.

Ghana Music Celebrated

This past school year, fifth grade band students from Clear Springs had the opportunity to expand their musical education by learning a new type of music called gahu, a social dance from southeastern Ghana.

Senior Serve 2019

With their last classes of high school officially over, Minnetonka seniors spent their final few days before graduation participating in a variety of volunteer opportunities through the Senior Serve program.
