Frequently Asked Questions

What does my Open Enrollment application guarantee?

When you complete the open enrollment application, you are applying to the District, not a particular school or program. You will have the opportunity to include your top three choices on the form - for kindergarten, please include your top 3 building and language choices. These will be taken into consideration and you will be notified of available building/program by email.

Do I need to let you know about younger siblings?

Yes, please be sure to log in and check Skyward Family Access to make sure all of your students are in our database. If you do not have an account, please feel free to contact the student records office at 952-401-5000 and they will be able to assist you.

I’ve applied/registered. When will my next communication be?

You will start to receive communications from the District in November.

Open enrolled families will be notified by February 15 as to which program and school they will be able to attend.

For incoming Kindergartners, you will be invited to a Spring event at the school. An email will go out after our spring break (see district calendar)

Once approved for Open Enrollment do I need to reapply every year?

No. Your child will be enrolled from year to year until graduation unless you withdraw from the district. Then the process will start over.

When will I be able to log into Skyward?

By Mid-August the Tech Center will email your family and enable you to claim your Skyward account.

I am having trouble logging into Skyward or forgot my password.

Please contact or call (952) 401-5123 for technical help or to reset your password.

Can I change my own address on Skyward?

No, please let the office assistant at your school know.

When will I sign up for transportation/busing and where can I find that information?

For information about transportation, please visit their website.

When/How do I sign up for classes at MHS?

Contact the guidance office at 952-401-5811 to schedule an appointment with a counselor.

My family has moved! Who do I contact?

You can contact Jennifer Stauber at 952-401-5058 or the office assistant at your student’s school. Be sure to tell them the exact date you will be residing in your new location.

If I move out of the district can I still attend?

Yes, but transportation will be your responsibility. Please contact student accounting to let them know the exact date of the move and you will then receive an email with any additional paperwork that may be needed to complete.
