Project Lead the Way

Through project and problem-based curriculum, PLTW gives pre-engineering students a chance to identify problems, apply what they know, find unique solutions and lead their own learning.

In Project Lead the Way (PLTW) courses, students apply concepts of engineering, architecture, science, math, and technology to solve complex, open-ended problems in a real-world context. PLTW is highly respected by universities and provides students the opportunity to earn college credit at Minnesota universities.

MHS is a certified PLTW site

As a certified PLTW site, MHS meets quality standards (teacher training, resources and equipment, industry partnerships) and ensures college credit eligibility for select courses. MHS offers four PLTW courses; see descriptions in the Technology Education section of the Skipper Log Course Catalog:

  • Civil Engineering and Architecture
  • Digital Electronics
  • Introduction to Engineering Design (completes 0.5 towards the Arts Credit)
  • Principles of Engineering
