This program is your gateway to mastering the engineering process, honing your problem-solving skills, and exploring the innovations that have propelled the aviation and aerospace industries to new heights.
From the pioneering designs of the earliest flying machines to the sophisticated technology behind modern aircraft, gain a comprehensive historical perspective and understand the critical role aviation plays in our world today.
But it's not all theory; MOMENTUM's Aviation pathway also offers an immersive, hands-on experience. You'll get to navigate flight simulators, pilot drones, and even take control in the cockpit of a real airplane.

Course Spotlight - Foundational Courses
A foundation in either flight simulation and/or drone operation is the first step in building your aviation pathway at Minnetonka!
Students will also gain historical perspective from earliest flying machines to modern aircraft and the integral role aviation plays in today’s world. This is a hands-on course and you will learn to fly on simulators as well as take flight in a real airplane.
Introduction to Aviation: UAS (Drone) Operation
This course provides a comprehensive education in drone technology, regulations and practical flight skills. Students will gain hands-on flying experience, engage in flight simulation exercises, and obtain their recreation drone pilot certificate. By the course’s conclusion, they will be prepared to pass the FAA Remote Pilot test, becoming a certified commercial drone pilot. The class combines classroom instruction with practical training, offering access to drone simulation, actual drone flying and flight simulation.
Upon completion, students will possess the knowledge and skills to safely and legally fly drones, positioning them for careers in the expanding field of drone technology.
