Books for Bikes

Excelsior Elementary School has partnered with the Excelsior Masonic Lodge to challenge young readers. Students that meet their monthly reading goal are entered into a monthly drawing to win a gift card. In addition, at the end of the year all those students that meet their monthly reading goals are also entered in the drawing for a bike.

Blue Jay Publishing: Your child can become an author!

Excelsior Elementary is excited to announce Blue Jay Publishing. Our mission is to provide students in 3rd through 5th grade the opportunity to write stories outside of the school day, which are above and beyond the classroom curriculum/assignments.

Dream Days Fundraiser 2018

The first student "Dream Day" fundraiser for the 2018 Dream Makers event is Friday, December 1st (PJ Day) and Friday, December 15th (Hat Day). The event is appropriately titled, Dream Makers, because the foundation makes the dreams of Minnetonka teachers and students a reality! The Foundation was able to provide $63,124 in teacher grants for this school year alone, and recently launched The Hub, encouraging creativity, collaboration and teamwork for all Minnetonka kids K-8.

Hour of Coding Party

Excelsior Elementary, as a part of a District wide effort to increase exposure to computer coding, is hosting two after school "Hour of Code" events during the international "Hour of Code" week. The events are being held after school from 2:45 – 4:15 on Dec 5th for the Kindergarten through 2nd Graders and Dec 7th for the 3rd through 5th Graders and the 2/3 & 4/5 Navigators.

XY Club

The XY Club is a male volunteer program open to any male connected to a student at Excelsior Elementary (Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, Special Friend, etc). These individuals get involved with things such as: Donuts with Dads, recess monitors, lunchroom monitors, Daddy Daughter Dance, and other PTO activities.
